PLEASE HELP ! 🥲

Firstly I want to apologise if I have written in the wrong section - I need help with my 116d .

Whenever I start my car after not driving it for a while ( typically morning or late afternoon) my car seems to not be going over 160-170 torque( looked in sport display) in any gear and I’m a bit concerned as this has only started happening in the past month or two , the car feels very sluggish and just abnormally slow ,BUT when I turn it off and then back on it’s goes back to going over 240 torque even if I do it right away in the morning - it’s a bit concerning as I’ve not seen anything similiar happening to anyone else . I’ve had it serviced and the issue still persists .

Thank you and I apologise again if this is all posted in the wrong section

Sounds like your swirl flaps. Have you run diagnostics and pulled any codes yet?

I believe you can delete these flaps from your manifold (or replace manifold) but first thing is diagnostics and see what codes you are getting if this is repeatable.

Do you think it’s a major issue or just a minor delete?

It certainly is an issue that needs resolved. You need to first run codes to see what comes up. You can delete flaps but I believe you will need to recode it afterwards or just replace entire manifold.

Or I could be completely wrong and it something else... Run diagnostics and go from there.

Good luck and keep us updated!

Hello , yes it is swirl flaps , my mechanic gave me two option either to get it deleted out of the car or to replace the manifold , he recommended to get it deleted so I no longer have to worry about it happening again in the future - if you were in my position what would you do?
