CarPlay Audio stops after microphone use

I have a 2022 z4 with idrive7. I am finding that whenever I use the microphone to do anything, such as dictate a text, the CarPlay audio stops working. Google maps seems to be an exception as it continues to give audio directions. The audio continues to move forward and the phone and CarPlay think the audio is working, but there is no sound.

The only work around I have found so far is to disconnect and reconnect the phone through the iDrive menu. Any thoughts on what is going on or why? And is there a way to prevent it?
