Anyone would be foolish to think that whatever this car is, would be full combustion. We know this will be EV focused whether it’s a full EV or uses a hybrid system.
I wouldn’t even be mad if they brought back the i8. The i8 failed because there was no reason to have a 4 cylinder with a battery “supercar” at the time but type of setup powertrain would work in todays market assuming BMW up’d the HP and TQ. |

Looking forward to it. It will be powerful, smooth and quiet. Too many car makers are focused on building a cheap BEV for the masses. There wasn’t any that interested me until the i5 M60. It would be hard for me to find something I love more, but I will definitely take a look.

My guess is they'll lean heavy on the M brand to try to sell it. It will likely be a pure BEV, coating a crapload of money and selling very few units, only to ultra wealthy collectors who will park it next to their ICE Ferraris and Lambos as a conversation piece.
In short, who cares? It isn't what people actually want more than likely, which is a high revving ICE , high powered M1 successor that isn't hybrid or anything stupid like that to improve lightness. Ugh I bet they name it the iM or iM1 and really kick us in the gut. |
