Quick trip to Savanna, GA

Hey Everyone!

Looking to take a quick trip to Savanna, GA at the end of January / early February next year with my wife.

Looking to get ideas on what to do and where to eat. Wife and I are foodies and like a good adventure. I see there are haunted tours..done that before in Charleston, SC..so maybe something a little different. I am going to try and convince her to play some golf too but that might not fly. Lol

Looking at staying down there Wed to Sun or Thurs to Sun.

Thanks all!

I would pass on Savannah. The food is very similar to Charleston but without the cooking school in Charleston.

Maybe do New Orleans instead?

Have a nice dinner at Commanders Palace, Antoine's etc.

My one and only day in Savannah was for a family dinner party on the riverboat. The cobblestone street next to the river seems to be the big tourist draw.

FWIW, Paula Deen has a restaurant there.....

Well, I haven't been to Charleston in over 15 years and same with my wife. So in essence, it will be somewhat new to us.

We are cool to walk around and shop and day drink, maybe a few fun things to do!

Not interested in New Orleans right now. Maybe in a few years as we have out 10 year wedding anniversary coming up then. Looking for a quick, fun trip.

I will need to check all of that out! Would like to have somewhat of a game plan.

I know there is a golf course there by the JW Marriott!

Savannah in February isn't going to be very pretty at all. One of the draws to Savannah is its various gardens and city parks. May would be a far better time to visit when there are actual flowers and trees with foliage.

I second New Orleans. It will have far more to offer and see. Plus it's actually a bit safer. Food is better too. I'd also recommend driving across the 20+ mile Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge and visiting Mandeville and the various state parks. It's a completely different feel compared to NO.
