R.I.P. The Grand Tour

I just finished finished watching the last ever episode of the Grand Tour, that show defined my childhood it's a pity it's over, sooo...

On that terrible disappointment, it's time to end. Thank you so much for watching, see you in another life...

Wait. The show is like 8 years old. It defined your childhood. How old are you?

Yeah, so sad, feels really like it's final this time, and it choked me up at the end.

For me the Top Gear and Grand Tour series', much like Initial-D, were a lifeline to my youth spent with cars and friends, and now that they're gone there's just this empty feeling. I have the money, and the cars, but without youth, and those friendships they don't mean much. I guess it feels like I'm losing friends.

Go back and watch Top Gear from the start, ending with Grand Tour.

I'm just about done series 10 and can't believe how much my tastes have changed in the last 22 years.

I remember having a taste for British comedies so I'd watch BBC America. It must have One Sunday afternoon in the mid 2000's since my dad was still alive I caught an episode of it. Was hooked right from the start.

I bought all the seasons on early iTunes and migrated over to watch on AmazonPrim with them. I will miss the show but I do see that the show probably ran it's course with an aging cast and changing car market. Not to mention Jeremy has a hit farm show to steer at the moment so does he really need to be splitting his efforts.

Thanks for the memories and if I ever miss them I've got hard drive full of episodes to watch.

I remember watching the original Top Gears live on TV as a kid in the 90s. I never bothered to watch the newer ones, honestly.

Hammond's car was my second car and I ended up owning three of them in 3 years. I'd love another one but they are priced to insane for such a crude car.

I'd 2.3 EcoBoost it with manual gearbox and convert rear end to a independant suspension.
