Saw a new one (well, new to me) euphemism this morning while reading an
article about last night’s SpaceX launch from Vandeberg. RUD. Rapid,
unplanned disassembly. Apparently, the 2nd stage engine blew up. I
wouldn’t mind if they simply said, “It exploded.” 🤔

RUD has been used by Musk/SpaceX for several years to describe their glorious failures.....

No more used cars. Now they’re “Previously owned.”

Then there’s the politically correct university I worked at where the
administrators “Re-purposed” computers. Sure didn’t want to offend
someone by telling them they were getting a 2nd hand or used
computer. The same administrator stored all of his incoming brand
new computers in a room without a ceiling.

I've also seen "previously loved" used cars, but that same description could be used for lost virginity.

My first boss in academia was a retired army general, and he would instruct us to "liberate under-utilized assets" when he was taking a computer/terminal/printer away from someone to give it to someone else who needed it more.....
