There is a reason for everything.
I have nothing against braking with the left foot, but this is not for the average user, the majority here do not even know how to brake correctly, much less transfer weights with the brake.

This is very true. Lots of average drivers even don't know how to hold the steering wheels in a proper way

LFB is useful to me not only on quick roads but in town traffic. When the creep mode on the car is not enough to catch up as traffic moves on, like for instance on London's Edgware Road, then the feet stay in place, I call it my comfort mode and you can always go back to the other way and use the right foot for braking.

For a newbie to LFB (if the pedals allow it easily with the spacing) it may be a difficult switch but once mastered getting the feel for it then they'll wonder how they did without it.

Totally agree. It bring you to the next level of driving (safer, faster and total enjoyment). However I stronger recommend you only practice/learning on roads that have no cars or on track. It take a long time to get comfortable with it because you have to re-learn what you learnt. Don't give up.

Well I'm chuffed and you're not bad yourself with doing the same with a manual gearbox car which is worth more

The average driver does not have enough to skill to drive a manual, (or brake, or corner) anywhere near what is needed for high performance driving. Add in left foot braking and that changes to almost no one.

With that said, to drive at the higher levels of racing and to be competitive, left foot braking is essential.

You totally kill it That why when I heard ppl are saying I have to upgrade this, modify that to make the car going faster to make it suitable to run on track. I just keep laughing. How many of them are able to drive their cars to the limit

The vids are there and no reason not to get into it just complacency, there is nothing stopping them taking some tuition.

+1!!! This is by far the best thing I have gotten from attending BMW driving events!! I love it!! I’m hoping they are back to it when I go next month. With the pandemic they went to using radios and it is nowhere nearly as effective. The two biggest lessons. Always looking up and down the road and you steer where you are looking. Look where you want to go. If you start sliding toward something and you focus on that something you WILL hit it. Look where you want to go and your hands on the steering wheel will follow.

Yes, they can watch the vids, but they have already been driving for years and still cannot drive.

One of the best lessons, slow is fast. It may seem counterintuitive, but the faster you try to drive the slower you will be. In other words, don't overdrive the car.

Once we got people to actually slow down, their lap times always got better.

Very true. If you go too fast (out of your skill) you are constantly try to correct your mistakes on every corner turns.

I found in my few experiences on the track that driving fast is a real skill that can’t easily be learned. You better have great reflexes and hand eye coordination because everything happens so fast. I drove nascar in Delaware and Vegas. I was very excited that I finished near the top of the class because we didn’t get much instruction. I still remember the apex of the turn being an area of focus.

Yep, there is not short cut for building that skill and every track is different. These are where the fun start. Enjoy and keep putting more mileages on the tracks, and one day you will find the pure enjoyment.

Yes, the words that echo in my head and that I appreciate the most about having an instructor sitting next to me are “brake, brake, brake” as we approach and enter the turns.
