Considering most cars are appliances now Porsche doesn't have much competition.

They are the drivers choice now.

Their high end models are status symbols now.

They can charge what they want and play whatever games they want. It won't change until another marque steps up.

So in hindsight, I wish I did get it. I also wish I grabbed the AMG GT Black edition for 50k over sticker.
I would gladly burn any bridges I may have with a dealer for a free $100k+, but that's just me. There's plenty of other dealers and lots of used cars out there for sale.

Used GT3RS are 500-600K USD.

One of my local dealers (Greenwich) is doing anywhere between 175-250K over.

I'm a Porsche guy, but don't care much for the 911s anymore sans the GT cars, but at prices like those for a GT3RS I'd rather have something else like a 765LT for 4XXK or a 488 Pista for roughly that money which I'd bet with equal tires would be faster in any scenario and looks as good doing it.

Meh, i'd have to have insane money to buy something like that, like 10s of millions.

At those prices i'd just get a nice 997 GTS.

Literally exactly. That's why I have a 720s and ordered a 750. When the right Senna pops up, I'll grab one of those too.

From what I can see you don't get a lot of creature comforts in it, can see no parking sensors for a start and haven't seen the interior where I'm not expecting a lot like radio or even electric windows etc.

Rick,

Just was watching this video on Porsche pricing and inventory on your side of the pond. Looks like the economy is taking a hit on Porsches.

^ As the chap says, a squeeze on credit, lack of customers with cancelled orders can only be good news for real Porsche fans and not so good for Porsche official dealers wanting to keep this 'high status only' stranglehold on these top 911 models.

oh noooo Hark! Peril abound! The market won't support absolutely retardedly inflated figures anymore. I'll never forget how Porsche North Scottsdale treated me after trying to order a 911 for 5 years.

Just think the 911 GT3 RS is one of the sharpest out there....I dont have them deep pockets to get one. But still an awersome looking car.

Same here but if I did I'm thinking a GT3 Touring with the RS spoiler, that's if it can be optioned.

The GT3/Touring and RS are totally different monsters. The aero work on the RS brings it to next-level, it's slower in top speed and in a straight line, making ungodly amounts of downforce, not to mention the suspension and everything is all set up for racing. This is a race car you can drive to the track, but not an everyday car by any stretch. I for one would never consider this car, unless I had a track available, the money for all the spares and support, and so on, to take advantage of it. I'd be pretty far into track racing at that point, but that's the point of the car...that and the people that buy it just to look at it or lock it up in a bar-essentially.

The GT3/Touring is far more appropriate for everything outside of straight track duty. To that extent, putting the RS wing on would be pretty ridiculous, since they are missing all the other extra aero work that works in conjunction with it. I'm not sure what the draw of that would be, except to reduce your visibility and stick on an erector-set on the car.

People get way to drawn into the "highest spec" of a car usually...when it's not the highest practical spec that can be driven day to day. Of course, everyone that owns one always claims, whether it's a NASCAR or F1 formula, that "it's not bad on normal roads", but in reality the highest spec race-cars are intended to put down the fast time around a track as the number 1 priority, so I don't even see these cars as legit eye-candy. They are purposeful and there is respect there, but in no way am I ever interested in these, because there's nothing I could do with it unless a whole bunch of other conditions existed first (like access to a decent track, etc.).

Good points you mention there and agreed the RS wing set to zero down force, if it can even be fitted, would be for show only, I'm thinking a 'daily' car with the comfort and wow looks on the Touring.
