I know a guy who OD-ed in a WalMart bathroom. They narcan-ed him and sent him on his way. He goes home, OD's again. Paramedics are the same one from earlier and are pissed.
He is better now, supposedly not using any longer and doing ok. . .

And it's available OTC. May as well make every drug legal.

Mixed news on this but at least some folks are trying to do the right thing. To bad this is a necessary medication.
FDA approves first opioid reversal drug from a nonprofit company 07/28/23 The Food and Drug Administration on Friday approved the first version of over-the-counter (OTC) naloxone from a nonprofit company, a move that could bring cheap and even free doses of the opioid overdose drug to Americans who need it most. Unlike other naloxone products, Harm Reduction Therapeutics said it will make RiVive available for free or at low break-even cost. The nonprofit said it is focused on supplying RiVive to communities that need it most and will make at least 200,000 doses (10 percent of projected initial annual product production) available for free. “No company, entity, or individual will profit from sales of RiVive,” the manufacturer said. https://thehill.com/policy/healthcar...rofit-company/ |

idk, I think a lot of the depravity is just better advertised today. Growing up in the 70s there was some really nasty shit going on and people just didn't talk about it or swept it under the rug.

I am a positive and happy person by choice. That said, we are on a downhill slide until the end.

We flew home yesterday and some idiot thought it would be a great idea to try to open the rear exit door mid flight at 37K feet. While I don't think that's physically possible given the pressurization, I'm still happy his seat mate thought he was acting odd and checked on him and then physically restrained him just in case. They had to divert the plane to offload him into the waiting arms of the RCMP, hoping he's currently enjoying the amenities of a gray bar hotel in Winnipeg right now but then again, he'll probably be released by now with a promise to show up in court.
Thing is, I figure he must have been high - I'd put him around 18-20, and the reason I think her might have been high was I heard someone who could see him better said it appeared he fell asleep for rest of flight (surrounded by a bunch of passengers who would have been all too happy to encourage him to sit back down if he tried to move at all)... I don't think one would just fall asleep or act that way unless they were high. Mental disorder I figure they still would have been awake and probably fighting it more. Just a crazy world we live in. |
