Online vs. telephone food ordering (pickup, not delivery)
Online order = ready for pickup in 30 minutes
Call via telephone and speak with a human = ready in 10 minutes How is “technology” helping us……?? |

I wonder this all the time....I am become very dependent on online ordering/delivery since COVID and I really hate that I have but thats life.

Around here, they seem to time online orders as if a DoorDash/GrubHub delivery driver needs to be dispatched from two towns away. If you call direct for pickup, your order goes straight to the kitchen.....

For me it's the process on the front end (not the food).
Spend 5 minutes talking on the phone or Spend 15 minutes logging in, forgetting password, send verifcation code, get bombarded by ads, get special offers,get limited menu items, get menu items at a higher cost than hat the resturant actually charges, have to manually override the tip % from 20 to 0, enter cell #,email, cc# exp date, ccv, zip code, uncheck multiple boxes to subscribe to offers/promotions, wait for webite to process order, have an error and start all over.
