Which One?
EDIT: They dropped the price on the 530 $4,900
EDIT: I'm afraid to say this on these forums, Im 16 this will be my second car. I will be trading in my sister's '02 Nissan Pathfinder LE. For a good deal. Saying I'm 16 gets me chewed up. Im not one of those nascar teens either, I like to cruise and enjoy my car. Go for drives. So please no comments about being 16. Alright! Im going to get a car pretty soon! Here are my options! Tell me what you think are the pros and cons of each one and which I should get in the end. Could you tell me the power differences also, 0-60 times? Im not going to be racing this thing by any means but, curiosity. Could you also tell me if I am going to run into a lot of problems with either of these cars? thanks. http://www.fantasyautoinc.com/carview.php?view=1138 or http://www.fantasyautoinc.com/carview.php?view=1129a The 525 PROS -low miles -love the color -navigation -manual trans. CONS -No sport package -less power -cant see what the interior looks like (not a big issue, ill go down there and see it) -no xenon The 530 PROS -more power! -xenon -sport package CONS -24,000 MORE miles than the 525 -Automatic trans. (not a big issue) __________________ Last edited by andyffer; 07-26-2008 at 09:47 AM.. |

Even for an 02 530 with the milage that is really cheap - I would be warry and certainly check the history on the car as it should easily be worth more.
I would also be afraid of the automatics - not known for their longevity and if they go, they tend to go in the 80-100k range. Most people think it is because of the lifetime fill on the fluid, so if you get a lower milage autobox, change the fluid ever 50k and it should last better, but the manual will always be more fun and a bit faster! |

go with the 530
the 525 is just way to weak for a 5 series i have a friend who has a 530 the thing is decently fast and he still complains about it lacking power so i can only imagine how bad the 525 will be like |

According to the Kelley Blue Book, the 530i should be at least $2,000 more than the 525i. Make sure you run a CARFAX record check on each car ($35 unlimited vehicle reports, well worth it). Here are the KBB values for each car:
525i (sale price: $14,900):
530i (sale price: $10,500):
According to Fantasy's pricing for the 525i, the 530i should be somewhere around $16,500 (assuming identical condition). |

I think its nice to see a 16 year old out there not concerend with getting the fastest car he can get ahold of. +1 to you for having such good taste as well. Not many teens understand or care about the luxury side of vehicles. Very sophisticated for a 16 year old in my opinion.
