Soap/Water Spot Removal - HELP!

Hello all! I recently purchased Gyeon Bathe+ to try - I can tell it's a great product and the hydrophobic properties are immediately obvious. That said, I just used it for the first time last week and am afraid I either used too much, did not rinse quickly enough, or a combination of the two. I just re-washed the car again this morning and it looks even worse! There are tons of streaks and water/soap marks all over the front. Does anyone have a good recommendation to remove these marks? I was looking at Gyeon Restart or maybe CarPro Spotless Water Spot Remover? I'd appreciate any help - I'm so annoyed. The car is just 6 weeks old and all of my previous washes prior to last weekend have come out perfectly.

If washing the car with stronger snow foam/shampoo (preferably without coating properties) does not help, try using pre-wax cleaner. I personally use Dodo Juice Lime Prime and it helped me to easily remove one year old stains of hardened wax caused by applying too much product in direct sunlight. Technically it contains abrasive particles but it is much more delicate than even mildest polishing pastes so nothing to worry about. Just make sure to work the product on decontaminated paint. If you want something without abrasives there is Lime Prime Lite but IMO it's a waste of time and energy.

This is very minor it’s from the sealant that’s in the shampoo curing unevenly. Maybe you didn’t rinse/dry fast enough like you said. If you get a “reset” or “strip wash” shampoo from any of the major detailing brands that should remove it. I generally think it’s best to avoid the “two in one” shampoos and just get a car soap for washing and pick a spray sealant to use after drying.

Try Koch Chemie Fse water spot remover or use Optimum No Rinse mixed at 16:1 ratio (use deionised water if possible) as a quick detailer.

Gyeon’s water spot remover is great.

When you rewashed did you use bathe+ again? Id start from scratch and use an acidic wash like CarPro’s Decale and then hit it with a spot remover to finish off what the descale didnt.

You could try washing you car in Q²M Restart Wash.

From the Gyeon website...

Q²M Restart Wash is an all in one product - it will clean, decontaminate and restore initial properties of coated surfaces. Unlike Q²M Bathe+, is does not add hydrophobicity, but restores the coating. It has the ability to remove ferrous deposits thanks to an iron remover infusion. It might be used as foam or a traditional shampoo - make it a versatile maintenance solution for your coated vehicle.

Wild guess is panels were too hot upon application, regardless of how fast you may have rinsed it off ? It's best to do it on cool panels, and do sections and rinse as you go.

What type of shampoo do you have in your stash. Two strong wash shampoo washes should minimize it greatly and after a -few washes-, the striking should be not as prevalent. I'd start there with something like (carpro reset) , which is a great shampoo in itself at maybe 2oz per 5G bucket. While in name it's called (reset), I don't consider it a reset shampoo. It cleans very well, lubricity is outstanding and is just top tier shampoo on cats with coatings. With your spray and rinse, it should knock it back, but may take 2 more extra washes to do it.

Otherwise, just step it to the next level of aggressiveness with a a paint cleaner polish

It was in a touch less carwash bay - that said, I do have to drive a bit to get to it, so the front of the car could have been too warm. Also, the first day I washed with the Bathe+, the front of the car was getting a bit of sun regardless of being in the bay. I think it's probably a combination of all factors: warm car, sun, and too much product. I think I was hoping it would get sudsy and it really does not.

I ordered CarPro Reset so hoping that will get me back to a blank canvas.

I went to a Cars & Coffee yesterday and used a detailer spray before hand to get most of the spotting off. I was really worried everyone would see the mess and turns out, my car was one of the cleanest there. lol

Ideally cold - as in dusk or cold as in sitting in garage...

Panels were definitely too hot. Even with a wash, there is probably a thermal mass of heat from the block. FWIW, the same applies to the sides of the car, etc, You can wash it , and the panels may feel cool to the touch but the emissivity of the heat from inside the car if it's been -sitting in the sun getting heatsoaked- still will make the panels too warm IMO, even after a solid carwash in theory where the panels are cooled off.

You should be good. The soap/sealant in a shampoo wash is even more -weaker- than a spray-rinse sealant as well so just 2-3 washes should diminish it.

FWIW, Reset is a strong soap, so for just general cleanup, shoot for 3/4-1 oz per 5 gallon bucket. I errr of 1 oz per 5G, but this is on coated cars. The product you're using is kinda -weak- and Reset might be strong on it, aka, diminish it so use it sparingly or just dial the dilution rate down for day2day washes

If you find the frequency of application/longevity is not what you like with Bathe, consider Gyeon Cancoat.
A bit more work as you do need to apply and *wipe removal*, but durability is not like the combo product you are using. Minor tradeoff in ease of application I suppose

Glad to hear.

Reset is great stuff....cleans well, very lubricious. It's my top shelf shampoo....
However, like I said, it's strong. Great for coatings....might strip *weaker stuff*, so just be mindful and dilute as OP...

If you want something to use after you wash the car try Koch chemie FSE. That's what I use to get any dry marks off before I use my Nanolex SiSpray. Trust me you'll love it!!!
