What to use to clean black headliner

Hi guys,

What do you use to gently clean the black headliner material on your cars?

I don't want to end up washing out or bleaching it by using a chemical that's too harsh. I was thinking of diluting laundry detergent.

I use one of those hand held steam cleaners, the kind that have a vacuum as well and suck up the water right after it has been sprayed.
Maybe just try hot water first with no soap.

In the end, I diluted laundry detergent in some warm water and used a clean microfiber towel. Worked flawlessly.

I'd be afraid of stream as it might affect the glue/foam layer & result in a sagging headliner.

I haven’t used this specifically, but, BF makes some very good products. Just sharing what I’ve learned over time.

I've also heard good things about Folex - cheap enough to give it a try, but at this point I am beginning to think that Folex is nothing more than laundry detergent solution in a nice spray bottle.

I've used general fabric cleaners and a detail brush, my go-to is the ammon one because I happen to have it since it comes with the leather kit they sell. I would be VERY gentle with any sort of heat/steam due to the headliner glue, it is fine to use but do not get it overly farm or really blast it

Do you have some sort of stain on it?
