Royal Caribbean's biggest ship is MV Wonder of the Seas. 1,188 feet (362 m) long! Almost 237,000 tons gross tons! I'm sure it is spectacular, but I'd prefer to get somewhere with fewer people and not overwhelm the tours or port. Wonder of the Seas has only been in service for a bit over a year -- has anyone done one of these mega-ships?

I have not, yet. I do want to try one out and see what it's like. It looks pretty amazing with the interior park and street shops.

Any thoughts on Royal Caribbean vs. Norwegian? I've never been on a cruise, and the only thing I know is to stay away from Carnival.

I'm platinum status on NCL, and am happy enough where I've never looked at any of the other cruise lines.....

Bit the bullet, and doing another virgin cruise - debark from Barcelona, does the south of France and Ibiza. Going in a few weeks.

Fwiw, we've done one virgin cruise previously and loved everything about it.

We did an NCL cruise - the Prima - a few months back; stayed in a suite, spent a bloody fortune, and hated it. Sub par food, nickel and dimed to death, mediocre service overall. Would not recommend, will never repeat.

We are trying to set up Barcelona-Rome in October. I *thought* it was NCL, but now not sure. I'm just the guy my wife has to bring along, so she can go with her sister, so I never get details. I'm still not even sure of the dates.

We just booked a specialty cruise through Sixthman on NCL.
This is called Chef's Making Waves with a bunch of celebrity chef's doing the menus and cooking. Looks like it should be interesting.

Booked on NCL Prima for Oct. 13 departure from Barcelona (yes, Friday the 13th) Includes air from LAX for two, 10 days on the Prima, two days in Rome at the end, and air home. Balcony for just over $7k.

"I couldn't have gone to Disneyworld for that price" LOL

Just had NCL cancel my New Zealand and Australia trip planned for 2025 due to a fleet redeployment. Booked a similar 13-day itinerary with Princess instead.

This will be on the Royal Princess.

One suggestion - if you care at all about food, stay in haven. The food outside haven ranges from mediocre to nauseating.
