Anyone else spend more than they should using Uber Eats? We use it about twice a week - just so convenient. Sometimes they have uber eats exclusive items, not sure what that means but I had a sushi burrito recently that blew my mind. We tend to order crumbl cookies on the weekend. Used to get Mex a lot but been eating healthier lately, minus the cookies 😂. Ordered water this morning - we were out, driver called at 6am and asked if we wanted an order that the buyer didn’t pickup - I said sure - wondering what it could be, it was a quesadilla from Wawa and a chicken salad sandwich and ben & jerrys lol. My boys are it and I had a bite, and I’ll be damned if it wasn’t actually pretty good .
What do you normally order? |

I keep receiving an Uber Eats $25 savings, tried to use it the other night but it doesn't work? Never used Eats before? WTF.
I've used Uber a few times so nothing against the folks that drive, but stop sending me coupons Uber Eats coupons that don't work. Of course they have no customer service |

I've used their customer service a bunch, whenever there is an issue with the order and they always take care of it.
833-275-3287, or email restaurants@uber.com. Using the coupon might mean going into the app and selecting the coupon when you checkout, or something to that affect. |

We did during the pandemic...maybe that's why I never order food delivered anymore. I don't know why. It just has a negative stigma attached to me personally now for some reason.

I have a love hate relationship with uber eats. On the one hand I think it's a rip off... on the other tacos can just show up in the middle of the night when I'm drunk and craving a taco party pack.
Typically I only use it when they send their 40% off coupons which they seem to do a lot. This basically covers all the fees and some of the tip, but you still end up paying more for the food. That's the main thing I don't like. They charge more for the same food so you don't really know how much you are paying for using uber eats vs picking it up yourself. Mostly I order Indian, BBQ and food from a chicken place. The Indian place often sends me coupons also so that's mainly what I use it for. Certain food travels well and certain food doesn't. I don't really use it for anything else like convenience store stuff and what not even though they seem to want to push that stuff hard. |

I think its way overpriced but with my chase sapphire reserve card I can use doordash as it gives you a free pass account.
That then removes all services fees, most delivery fees and monthly you get a $5 credit... honestly at that point, if I use it once a month, the price is just like ordering at the actual location. Without that, I find its very expensive... there are a ton of fees and I always tip a few bucks to the driver.

No, whenever I do want to eat out or something (probably not even once a month. I don't eat out a lot). I'll just drive to the destination.

I only use it because Amex gives the monthly credit, or if I’m in a bind. I have Chase Reserve as well and don’t really use DoorDash either. If there’s a $20 off $30 coupon, then I’m 100% in for pickup. While convenient, these delivery apps are just too expensive. For example, if a meal is $15, by the time you add all the fees and tips, it’ll come out to $27 which is almost double the price!

In our area, Uber Eats doesnt have as good of restaurants as Door Dash IMO.
When the pandemic hit we got way too dependent on food delivery b/c we wouldnt get off the couch. Now, I cant get back into dining out.....just realized how much I enjoy sitting home after 30 years of going out all the time |

Grocery deliveries on the other hand... I don't think my gf has been to the grocery store since the start of covid when she signed up for grocery delivery. They constantly fuck that shit up. A couple of times they have just straight up stolen the stuff, claiming it was delivered but never showing up. The other day she ordered some deli sliced turkey... they literally brought like a 5lbs ball of turkey. Like the one the deli uses to slice, except they didn't slice shit, just the whole ball. Luckily they only charged her for the regular 1lb or whatever she ordered even though it was like a 5lbs ball. Anyways I couldn't deal with it, but since that's not my department whatever. Seems the hassle of getting wrong shit is less than the hassle of going to the supermarket. |

None of the food delivery apps have great offerings in our area. My DW signed up with DoorDash a few years ago while we were on a road trip, and we only use it for dinner deliveries to hotels when we're on the road. I would personally prefer to go out and dine around other people, but traveling with an OCD psycho dog means that we can't leave him alone.....

I live in a (somewhat) remote area of my city. I use DoorDash way more than I should. I'd probaby have a second M4 with the money I'd save if I deleted it from my phone, but like OP said, it's just so damn convenient.
I love getting home from a bike ride, ordering food, jumping in the shower, and then having food at my door when I get out. |
