The last time I saw a C8 at the dealer, it needed a transmission. It was there 9 weeks.

Worked for me, it was just some guy turning it over and having some seemingly heinous valvetrain noise.

The Z06 was still in it's rpm/power limiting break-in factory setting and this was apparent when he showed the instrument panel. Cars are run pretty damn hard at the factory for the first few miles to test for issues, including full throttle runs. This guy was just really unlucky and the issue likely present the first minute the motor was started and didn't havd full failure until 50 miles. Sounds like a rod bearing spun.
