Tire size differences

I see the new BMW I want to order comes with different tire size options, as I'm sure they all do. In my case, we will be ordering a new 2023 X1 as soon as they'll release the ordering guide (come ooooooonnnnnn - Canada's is out already, for crying out loud!). I'll be driving it in New England, mainly in the city. Probably won't get the M Sport package, to save some money. Should I just get the stock tires? What are the advantages and disadvantages to splurging on a larger tire?
