I still can't make the connection between being elated with a fast electric motor. It's just what they do. I can't explain it. I can't dig up a good analogy. I just don't get excited over EV's and any demonstration of "power." Slapping a horsepower rating on an EV doesn't seem apt, either.

Such a moron. This will go down in history with Rob Dahm's, Mazzai's, and others experience of how NOT to drive track. I made a "racecar" so I am a racecar driver man...OFFS. People, wear a helmet and change your fluid - basics. Cletus shirt was a clue.

The fact that he talks about new brakes/bleeding and then proceeds to go straight to 170mph on the track is nuts. Should have had those brakes smoking hot before hand doing some hard stops.

I know less about the mechanicals of a car than I do about women, and even i know not to hit the track HARD after having brakes bled. Stark, raving, mad.....no matter the car.

What an idiot... a 1000hp 5000lb car in the hands of someone with zero track experience is a deadly weapon.
He stripped his car of all the stock safety equipment, then replaced the brakes without flushing with high temp brake fluid, then decide to test said new brakes on a 160mph+ entry into a corner... that's Darwin at work.

Most cars will let you out-accelerate what your brakes can handle on a track, EVs do it faster for sure. This is one of the primary skills you learn when you start racing. You can definitely "go faster" in places...but you can't carry more speed into a turn or slow down too late from a higher speed. It won't work. You increase the speed, you have to increase the distance at which you start to slow down...by a lot. There's likely not a tire/brake combo that will handle slowing from 170 down to what was required for that turn for that weight of car, which would be the same if it was a AMG E or M5.

He's referring to regenerative braking. When I did the UDE this year, they had us run the course initially in "B" mode which is with regenerative braking active. I also got to run the course with "B" mode turned off.

What track has police respond to a crash? Unless there was something special about this crash?
