Anyone looking to buy an Atacama Yellow Z4 35i 6MT?
I have a vey well-featured Atacama Yellow 2012 Z4 35i 6MT on reserve at Carvana (coming soon listing) but I already bought another Z4 from its original owner with super low miles. Gonna miss out on the 6MT, but couldn't pass on how clean the one I got is.
Before I cancel my reservation, wanted to extend the courtesy and see if anyone is looking for a Z4 so that they can immediately reserve it once I release it (assuming that's how Carvana works). It's still going through the pre-inspection process so no date or pics up yet. I've had it reserved though since 3/4 and I've been reading the avg wait for it to come live is 6-8 weeks, so not much left. Full disclosure. Never bought anything from Carvana nor was I that thrilled about buying the car from a dealer (or Carvana in particular) because of the used car price craziness. Glad I got lucky with a private sale. https://www.carvana.com/vehicle/2272089 LMK by 4/17 before I release it.

Confusing add. Says it has a 6 speed but also says has a 7 speed option. Is it a manual or DCT?
4 previous owners is a worry for me. |

I found out that Carvana basically sucks at pre-order listings. They don't list accurate details until the inspection is done and car is live. This one is indeed a 6MT (at least according to their search filter and https://bimmer.work
And yeah, the 4-owner and what I'd call high mileage for this kind of car were a big turn off for me as well.

I never understood the "multiple previous owners" concern. You can have a single owner that has trashed a vehicle for 30,000 miles or four owners that took wonderful care of it for 25,000 miles. I'll take the latter all day.

I only compared the Z4 to the Cayman. Test drove both and definitely the Cayman was the sportier of the two. What played a huge factor in my decision though to go with the Z4 was cost, reliability, and the ability to work on it myself. I can work on BMWs and have easy access to discounted parts through my local dealer. I know nothing about working on Porsches.
I ended up giving up the 6MT in order to get the 35is. Flew out all the way to Seattle (and back in a single day) to see it and finalize the sale, but so worth it. Car only has 25K and still smells like new on the inside. Can't wait for it to get here sometime next week.
