Back when I was much younger and would have considered driving through a deep puddle, cars had carburetors sitting way up on top of the engine and I figured the water would never get up that high, so all I had to worry about were the electrical components shorting out or thermal shock cracking something. There is also the whole thing with water injection into the fuel air mixture to reduce detonation. Good thing I never had an opportunity to try it.

The videos remind of a specific on ramp in Northern VA. It's the ramp from GW Parkway feeding the inner loop of I495. The ramp has a drop and then a rather sharp curve that's somewhat of a blind corner. Tow trucks usually set up nearby when it snows as they know business will be good. |
