here's another one, cooper hawk waiting lunch to come back. It's been lurking around because I feed the birds.

great pic, but its a Red Shouldered Hawk (just FYI in case thats something you're into). i love the Barred Owl pic too. They make the most wild sounds when they get fired up.

Spent a week flying back and forth from KFMH to KPSM was a great week supporting local National Guard in our area on their ORI and our local ALCE back in 2015. Fall nights in Portsmouth bars are great.

That area will look a lot whiter after tomorrow. SE MA and the Cape are going to get buried.

I grew up just a mile or three off the end of one of the runways at KNZW. I'm old enough to remember the blimps lumbering by. I actually got to hitch a ride on one of the Navy choppers for a flight up through the White Mountains and into ME and back. That former NAS is now mostly converted to high end condo complexes.

Maine too!

My back yard about 11 this morning, and we have had quite a bit more since.

This was crazy. A common merganser popped out of the water with an eel in her mouth, and another lady duck decided she would rather go for the steel versus getting her own eel. A 30 second chase ensued all over the duck pond. Very dramatic!

Ducks aren't big on sharing, I take it.

Killer shot, Ed. You seem to have superb timing for nature shoots.

It was windy today, so this little one took shelter in a Lemon tree in our backyard.
