DMV Issue

I sold my Tacoma to Carvana in April 2021 and went to the DMV website to fill out their online title transfer form. I received a notice to renew the registration, which was expiring May 2021. I ignored it since I had sold the car before the registration lapsed. Now the DMV has sent me to collections and my credit has taken a 50 point hit.

I have an appointment at the local DMV on Wednesday and will bring paperwork of the transaction, but was wondering if anyone else has gone through a similar situation? How did you get it resolved?

I'm just really annoyed that even though I did everything right (I think) this whole thing has turned into a mess.

unless you filled out the release of liability form then you are probably on the hook for the fines/fees unless your lucky.

Hopefully it works out for you. I've read Carvana has a big issue with car titles. Apparently they keep giving their customers temporary tags instead of getting them processed

Thank you.

I’m hoping it doesn’t become a blame game between carvana and the dmv. I really don’t care who’s at fault. I just want the blemish off of my credit history.

I bought my A8 from them in October with no problems, hard plates were on time too.
