Uber weird battery problem

So, my tosh seems to eat batteries like toast, gone thorugh a few, maybe because "china knock offs" the original died after a few years and other cheapies die after a year or 2

so win7 started giving "your battery is faulty" error message and sure enough, you can charge it, but wont hold a charge for long, tried some tricks and battery restoring hacks none worked.

so I was going to get battery number 3 or 4, but I had kept the old china battery (actually got it many years ago from interstate) and never threw it out, stored in a static bag in the drawer, a year ? 2 ?

Guess what that sucker powers up and holds it's bloody charge, been testing it out, for a day or 2, no battery error, nothing

what gives ?
