I have a friend that has had trouble setting up an account. He is not receiving the verify email and he has tried two different email addresses. He gave up some time ago frustrated. He has a username, he just can't receive the verify account email for some reason.

I had the same issue with using yahoo.com email addresses. I had to register with my charter.net email address and once I got my verify email I switched it to my yahoo.com email address. PITA lol.

You should always observe the "Spam" bin in your mailbox: it's not necessarily spam that gets there (Those artificial "brains" are no better than natural: thinking they are smart while that's not a smart thinking. )!

Also, there are useful free temporary E-mail online services for "one time" communication (just mind having anything really sensitive sent there, as a precaution).

Took me over a week to get verified. Sent an email to the site and still took a few days after that.

He is frustrated. He really could add a lot of value to the G30 discussion. He has emailed admins etc and no one answers.

I actually tried today to set him up. I tried twice with two different emails and I got zero verification emails.

I honestly think no one owns or runs this site.

The site appears to be under spammers' attack. Fake accounts (registered recently) are being used. There may be some defensive strategy the administration doesn't wish to disclose. If they accept your registration request and promise to send a message just give them some time, perhaps.

Is this why it seems the PM system doesn't work for new accounts? I made a couple of post replies and still can't PM.

In another Forum that I follow, the Admin will require the new member to participate meaningfully with a minimum of fifty posts before they are allowed to access certain parts of the Forum. i.e Sale sections, messaging, adding an avatar etc...

Those attempting to by-pass this criteria by speed posting with mono syllable posts or emojis, are immediately banned.

Oh he has been trying to sign up for over a year, this is not recent. He gave up when his emails to Admins never get returned or addressed. One of the email addresses he used is a comcast address, so nothing funky here.

I guess since an admin has not jumped in on this thread speaks volumes.

I've also seen minimum post counts...plus X many days of membership used to restrict new users from even posting links and images on some forums.

The one that annoys me the most here is retro-editing SEO spambots. They will post gibberish, like "Cool picture!" on an active thread. Then, they come back a month later to edit that post with SEO spam links after it has been buried pages deep in that thread. A simple setting to prevent users from editing their own posts after 90 minutes (as seen on many other sites) would stop this, and discourage the spammers from coming back when they can no longer edit their gibberish with SEO links.....

He can login under either account.

Jason, he can login as you mentioned, but he can't do anything because he still needs to receive the verification emails that are clearly not sending.

Sorry for the frustration here, but what a shit show. You would think it would be easier to join? More members more attractive for advertisers?

Can I get a little bit more info instead of these cryptic short answers? Which account did you setup? Is it already verified behind the scenes etc.?

Neither the 430Scud nor 430Scuderia accounts show as having been logged into since last year. And these accounts are already confirmed and fully activated, they no longer need to be verified. Please PM me directly if you need further assistance.
