Calacatta marble sealant

Hi,

We're buying a house which has these countertops. They look great but I'm not looking forward to maintenance as from what I read they stain easily.

I figured someone on the forum must have some experience with these countertops. Is there any cleaner and sealant that someone can recommend? How often is it sealed?

And just out of curiosity, has anyone used a ceramic coating on their countertops? Seems like there is a company that does a professional ceramic coating but I wonder if you can diy it with off the shelf ones like CQuartz as well.

as 1st time homeowner and its been 2 months!!
there is plenty of DIY on youtube.
as far as countertop, mine is granite and i havent applied any sealant.
the countertop get wipe down all the time. if something is served or spilled it gets wipe down with
microfiber towel. Also never spray on the countertop, spray on papertowel or microfiber towel.
we have silicone pads, and ceramic pads for hot pots and pans.
its our method of keeping countertops clean and stain free.

electric stove, we do have sealant that gets applied every time something is fried, grease/oil stains.
It leave the stove top looking spanking new, but there is alot of wax on and wax off lol

We built a home a couple years ago and thought long and hard about marble countertops in the kitchen. Based on maintenance and durability we decided against it and instead opted for marble backsplash in the kitchen and marble countertops in the master bathroom. I'm obsessed with upkeep of my personal possessions and the marble kitchen countertop wouldn't have worked out well for my sanity.

Anyhow, you'll absolutely want to seal the marble and perhaps look into a polyethylene film to lay on top of the marble. Prestige Films has a product called StoneGuard which protects countertops from scratches, stains, etchings and knicks.

I saw stone guard online but didn't see many reviews for it. I need to dig into this further.

You can use Ceramic coating on your counters also FYI

+1 on the Stonetech products. I use it on my granite floors and it works great.

Also, AFAIK I think peeps have had good success with using automotive paint sealant on countertops as well. Def worth researching.

You want to use a silicone impregnator like miracle sealants 511 solvent based. Professional install if your not really detail oriented. Cannot leave any behind.

You guys make me feel like I've been doing something terrible and am not worthy of our honed statuary marble. Besides wiping up grease or spills right away, we just clean it with rubbing alcohol. After 14 years, it still looks perfect though and smells really clean
