Fanatec won't turn PS4 on?

I've searched quite a bit yet can't find the answer...can you guys turn the PS4 on from the Fanatec CSL Elite wheel?

I always have to use the controller to turn the console on, and from there use the wheel for everything else. What am I missing? The PS button on the wheel works fine otherwise, just not for turning the console on initially.

Someone please let me know if this is by design or perhaps a setting somewhere.

Mine is the same. But I leave the PS4 powered up, just eject the disc when I'm done and insert when I want to start again.
