I like my old V1G1, but from all of the issues I've heard about the V1G2, I'm holding off-- maybe a 360C or a Theia (if it's ever released).
I'm also looking forward to Theia but bought this for now. I live in PA near Ohio border and I think Theia will potentially be a better solution.

Going through a construction zone on turn pike today and it went nuts with all the speed signs that appear to operate on the same band as our state police. I worry about getting to aggressive on K muting since PA state police are good at hiding and using instant on low power.

been weary the way state police are operating on my route from wash / Baltimore to the Philly area.
noticed a weird contraption mounted on the front fender of a state police caprice ppv sedan - maybe a license plate reader but was about 12-inches square.

I'm getting lulled into thinking the cops are hardly pulling over speeders even with abundant police parked in the median. and my radar detector Uniden r1 is quiet except for bsm and occasionally county police.

the last time I'd seen numerous speeders pulled over the state police were in pickups and chevy tahoe and suburbans not explorers.

I don't intentionally speed. But I find myself doing so on freeways just because the 230i is so smooth. I have an Escort 360c. It keeps my attention on my speed better.

Even without a detector, there are things you can do to avoid tickets. Don't haul ass when alone on a road and you have to round a curve or top a hill. If you see brake lights of vehicles ahead of you when they top hills or round curves, slow down.

Thank you for this. So much bad information by others. Laser jamming is NOT illegal in most States. And where it is “illegal” it is a minor ticket or fix-it situation...much better than a criminal speeding ticket or arrest.

In Texas it is illegal to attempt to use, install, operate, or attempt to operate a radar or LASER interference device. It is a class C misdemeanor, and can result in arrest.

The juice isn't worth the squeeze.

I've noticed I NEVER get pulled over by cops sitting on the side of the road because I can easily spot them or Waze will notify me. Every single time I've been pulled over is from a cop driving in the opposite direction and making a u-turn. They always get me that way.

I finally just invested in a radar detector. Bought the Uniden R7 on Amazon. Should be arriving today actually. I know it won't save me from laser, but I don't ever see cops shooting that where I drive.

Same here. 13mph over from a cop coming towards me on the highway. 1st in 16 years and I don't use any detectors. I just don't go over 5mph on the highways, stick to the back roads when possible.

Ok you know we have 49 other States. Also a class C misdemeanor is the lowest level in Texas. Some of the speeds guys go here, I’ll take a class C misdemeanor all day long.

Really, there are other states? No shit, Sherlock.and as a former LEO and current instructor I am well aware of what a Class C is. You want to risk a custodial arrest so you can break other laws knock yourself out

And what are "speeds guys"?

In most States its LEGAL. Are you slow? Beats a class a, b, or felony, dummy. All day long. Nobody cares that you’re a LEO. Do you think you have some monopoly on knowing the law. BLM.

Wow, you really don't like anyone disagreeing with you? You should go outside and get some fresh air and work on your reading comprehension.

What does the fact that it is a Class C have to do with other penalties? You seem to be just looking for a fight.
