I will eventually, I have a Harmony in the family room and agree it is very easy to program.

Yeah, it's definitely time to replace it. As others stated, Logitech Harmony remotes are wonderful. I have two of them. Programming them may require patience for the non-nerdy.

Wait wait wait... there are MORE people out there with 14 year old Panasonic 42” plasma TVs? My wife has been giving me crap that we still have ours, but I got it in 2006 and still works great. I think the plan has been to move it to the garage (works great!) and get something better for the bedroom.

Does yours look like this?

Oh man, reaching back. I think it was something like $1200. I actually bought it at a discount because the box had a tear but everything was perfect inside. I think I paid $900? I’ve slept too many times since then...

Sort of. I think it was around $1,200 back in 2006.

Ill say it again, to replace those 2006 Pano plasmas with say 6 inches of LCD or OlED or QLED, gonna be $2K, minimum. There is a LOT of shit out there.

I have a 50 inch Panasonic plasma, the last made. Just bought a 65 inch Hisense, their best LCD, regular "sale" (not regular regular) price is $1700 (i paid $1K as it was the last one left) and thr plasma shits all over it. Viewing angle is worse, blacks are worse, movement is horrible etc. I mean it's better than REALLY cheap LCDs but you REALLY need to step up to match plasmas.

I bought 2 Sony XBR TVs 55 and 65, open box from bestbuy, came out pretty cheap for top of the line LCDs. Also Sony has some glitch and allows you to install firmware from new 2020 lineup, people claim it runs better etc. Android TV and Assistant work nice too. Previously ordered TLC 8-series, but canceled it
