Need help identifying if this is a fake

I am about to pull the trigger on buying this Carrera Calibre 16 and was wondering what I should look out for, to ensure the watch is not take. Any pointers would be appreciated.

I am buying this off someone on Craigslist. We have agreed to meet at an authorized Tag Heuer dealer for someone to look at the watch.

He has the box and all of the paperwork.

Thanks for the tips.

excellent approach. I was thinking of suggesting this but wasn't sure if this was an internet type of purchase of something local.

It wouldn't say Swiss Made at the bottom on each side of the 6 line if it were a fake.

Looks solid to me, but the Tag dealer should be able to verify for you. I've been very happy with my Tag. Nice watch and good luck!

Thank you. This will be my second Tag Heuer. Always liked the look of the Calibre 16 and larger watches.

that is incorrect. they print swiss made on all the fakes since the real deal says swiss made as well.

The easiest way on the tags is to have someone open it up and check the movement if its not one with a display back.

A majority of tags parts are made in china, as are other entry level watches, and as such, the guys in china making the fakes, are able to get the same tools and equipment and make some very close aesthetically fakes.

Edit: mother fucking grave digging bot got me...

Pretty old thread but as a general rule, fake Tag Heuers arent really being manufactured anymore. The price point doesnt even make sense to fake. A good fake will cost you $400 to $500 USD and you can get a real Tag on the secondary market for that price.
