Sounds like you are having 'COVID lite' which is actually a really good thing for you. You'll be over it, you'll have antibodies, you'll be able to resume a normal life. Such as that might be these days!

I'm really happy to hear about your dad too. My dad has been in the ICU and I know how that feels; but I have NO IDEA what it must be like to have him there and not be able to visit.

Still sending vibes. Keep on keepin' on!

If you have a belief system, thank it.
Extreme good fortune to have made it out of the Unit.
Good story for us all to hear.

So, do you now feel "immune" to the effects, or are you/dad actually going to take even more precautions, having been thru the hospital routine. What advice did the Dr.s give upon release?

Oh trust me man, I did. When he first entered ICU, he deteriorated and quickly. Him getting out this quickly is nothing short of something special. Yeah, I was hoping it would give others maybe in a similar situation of age some hope if god forbid it did come to their family.

In terms of "immune", I personally feel safer now that i've already got it. Does this mean that I actually am immune to it in the near future? Not sure only time will tell but most experts believe that once the virus has fully left, that you are "immune" for a time. I know people in SK got it again but they believe that the virus had never fully left them but instead reactivated. In terms of precaution we're self isolating for 14 more days upon advice from the doctor, staying on our fluids, and making sure my dad continues to get his rest + oxygen at home.

P.S if anyone was wondering, my dad was put on Hydroxychloroquine & antibiotics. Did this contribute to him getting better? not sure

Smart move to stay isolated. And yes I was wondering, thanks for letting us know.

Appreciate all the kind works. For my family life is finally returning back to "normal". One final last update of my families experience. If you or anyone else get COVID-19 (god forbid) pay attention to any pain within your bodies. It's an extremely obvious piece of advice but the rates of blood clots and strokes due to those blood clots is alarming. My dad was fortunate enough to get some clotting in his foot as opposed to an organ. Don't wait when you have pain and you suspect you have COVID. People in their 20s, 30s, 40s are getting these clots. Well wishes to everyone and once again I appreciate everyones kind words!

Glad to hear things are going okay.

Everyday we learn something new about what this disease does. My dad had to get tested yesterday, but only because he is going in next week for minor surgery to install a PT port in his abdomen for dialysis.

But both my parents are high risk.

Hope the surgery goes well brother. Sad to see all these people in the streets protesting to reopen the country because they probably don't have anyone high risk in their lives.
