The M3 does have a prettier engine then the 911.
But the oil cooled Porsche engine won’t rust a water pump like on the bmw. Did the 911 in this video look like it’s springs particularly in the front were an inch too tall. I think I’d rather drive my 235 more then either of these cars. |

Really like the e30, wish I bought one when they were 2 times cheaper then now.

What's with the comment about the floor hinged gas pedals and having to get used to them? Every modern bimmer has them and even Toyota Camry's have them now lol.

I’m surprised. I drove a friend’s very similar 911 but with the suspension bushings refreshed with poly and a classic Momo wheel, and I thought I was going to basically steal his car. It blew me away.
The clutch was absolutely terrible and I stalled it twice going out of the parking lot, but once moving it was magic. By contrast, I’ve always liked the E30 and briefly owned a 325is (in which I put an E36 M3 steering rack to alleviate one of these guys’ complaints), but I never clicked with the E30 M3. I don’t know, maybe I’m deviant but I’ve always preferred the M20 to the S14, individual throttle bodies be damned. Between these two cars, I’d pick the 911 every time.

These guys are great! They also have films comparing every generation of the M3 (up to f80) and the 911 (up to 991).

I'd probably take the 911 all day long over an e30M. The first gen cars have never really done much for me. I think the 911, particularly of this era, will be both more engaging and at least feel much faster.
