This is too sad. The good ones keep going...
Coincidentally enough I was just gifted his book, "Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road." |

Neil lived his life on his terms. Good for him.
RIP my friend

So many good songs. Red Barchetta is an anthem for anti authoritarian car guys, but so many other good songs, too.

And since this is a BMW forum, here's a picture of Neil with his Z8 somewhere near the old Le Studios where Moving Pictures, and Permanent Waves were recorded.

In honor of Neil we just finished watching “Rush, Behind the Lighted Stage” on Netflix. If you dig Rush you’ll love it.

I took my dad and I to see Rush on the R40 tour, opening date in Tulsa. It was an amazing show. And last year my girlfriend and I went to see the doc they made surrounding R40 which was pretty good as well. |

For fans the doc is really good went right back to the genesis of the band. I Saw them twice, first was a Moving Pictures Tour at MSG and the more recent one was the Snakes and Arrows Tour at Jones Beach. Wish I saw them more times. Peart was and always will be an absolute monster of the kit.

I was fortunate enough to meet Rush on their R40 tour a few years ago. Was their last live tour they did. A spectacular show, and a great bunch of guys.
You don't need to be a Rush fan to understand the impact Neil had on modern music and the generations of great drummers he's inspired. Rest in peace my friend. We'll meet again, beyond the lighted stage. Last edited by detroitm2; 01-14-2020 at 03:35 PM.. |

I saw them on the Power Windows tour. My least favorite album of theirs, but the show, and Neil, were outstanding!

Arg. Rush is one of the most overrated bands of all time.

Whether you like Rush music or not, those 3 were absolute masters of their instruments. Some of the best ever at drums and bass at least...

Saw Metallica for the black album tour......I was 10-11? We've taken each other to a lot of concerts over the years. I think in just the last few years I've seen Metallica, Deftones, Black Sabbath, Def Leppard, Tesla, Mastodon, Gojira, Dream Theater, Smashing Pumpkins, Miranda Lambert (that one was for the girlfriend), The Melvins, Marilyn Manson, and others. When I was younger I got to see Motorhead open for Dio. Alice In Chains (with Layne Staley) open for Ozzy. ZZ Top, Sepultura, Pantera, Cannibal Corpse, etc, etc. I've been lucky to go to a lot of great shows. |
