Thanks for all the advice and opinions! I wound up buying a 71 Opel Gt 4 speed. Perfect candidate for what I want to do. You never see them, they have a great following, and every single part is affordable and obtainable. I plan on doing a full restore and even ordered most of the parts already. The opel parts place is incredible, never talked to car guys that are so excited to hear some one is restoring another, they even gave me free shipping when it wasn't supposed to be. The body is lined up for early spring, all the windows will be removed and every inch gone through.
