Along the way, I noticed that the US 330e sedan could actually end up being a bit more powerful than the European one. But that's just a hunch at the moment, no more. |

A friend of mine from school works for a tool and for and mold manufacturer that supplies the equipment to make parts to automobile manufacturers and suppliers.
They currently make the tools and moulds for the X5 center console. I was speaking to him this past week and he said they've started bidding on making the equipment for the X8 center console. |

ynguldyn, there is a rumor around my local dealer (supposedly from BMWUSA marketing/sales) that the X5 M50i (N63TU3) will not come to the US in MY2020 and that we will keep the regular "50i" from MY2019. Everything else I've heard is contrary to this (including from you). Any update on this? Or should we still expect the M50i?

Oh, and one more thing: the N63TU3 training manual explicitly states that N63B44M3 is a transitional engine that will be quickly phased out, so BMW is not even hiding this fact from their US technicians. |

I actually think the X8 render looks pretty good - the proportions seem to be balanced better or something compared to the X7.

Wondering if this will make the line up as follows: X4 Sporty Fast Coupe (Only X4M), X6 New Mom Sporty Coupe, X8 Gentlemen's Coupe

Because of the coupe shape of the X8, I'd doubt that it would have a 3rd row. So whereas the X7 takes ALL extra room and puts it into the 3rd row (the 1st two row dimensions are the same as the G05), hopefully the X8 will add extra room to the 2nd row, making it ultra luxury-length like the 7-series.

The question is whether it will be delayed in the US market compared to the ROW release which happens mid next year. But yes, it will indeed be very unfortunate if it happens that way. The X6 should get the engine from the outset - they are not going to create a US-specific 50i model just for one year. I would bet that the M550i is a lock for this engine in the US next year as well, just as is the plan from ROW. The 750i also gets it for its LCI in March next year. That leaves just the X5 and X7. Would they delay it for one or both of those? Possibly, but for right now, my guess would be that it makes in to everything 5-and-up next year. No guarantees though. |

true enough. my daughter drove a used E36 vert in high school and a used E46 Vert in college. If I had unlimited funds I would get her an X2 via European Delivery as a graduation gift when she graduates in 2020 as her first new vehicle.

Definitely. Getting a European delivery is honestly on my bucket list. Fingers crossed Alpina does a B8 gran coupe, I'll be first in line after I hit the lottery to put one on EU delivery

The availability of Euro delivery is a plus on the X1\X2 for sure. Do college kids/grads actually drive or are mommy and daddy still the chauffeurs? |

I would say more of a larger luxury X2 in which it abondons the Coupe profile, for a sportier more dynamic lower roofed SUV appearance.
