I still remember that day. I just graduated from Mannheim American High a few months prior, and my buddy and I were planning on attending the Air Show. But, the day befor the disaster we decided to go play golf up in Heidelberg.

One of the darkest day into air show history, changed the entire contains of aerobatics on air shows into Europe.

I was stationed in Kaiserslautern and almost spent every weekend in Ramstein air force base.
I didn't know about this disaster until I've watched it today. |
