This looks good, a bit darker than most Marvel stuff.

I’m hoping the movie is darker than what’s shown in the trailer. I get the feeling there will be some ragnarok type comedy in the movie based on the scenes where Brock interacts with the symbiote. I love the part where he says “We.....are venom.”

Not too sure about this, but it would be interesting to see how it plays out.

I am concerned about how they will pull this off without Spiderman.

The only reason the symbiotes resemble and have their popular abilities is a result of their bond formed while Peter was the host, so not sure how they will write this one to be venom without that particular story arc.

As a huge Spiderman fan, Venom is one of my favorite characters in the Marvel universe since childhood. I hope they don't butcher this just for ticket sales because that will just ruin the story for current and future generations that are recently introduced to these otherwise legendary characters.

That could work, but I have doubts that will happen since Sony gave up the rights to Spiderman back to Marvel/Disney.

These corporations don't care about fluidity, continuity or fandom.

Their motivations are fuled by selling tickets and toys.

I have a feeling it’s going to be really corny. The motorcycle scenes look terrible. I’ll still watch it at some point, even if not on the big screen.

You might be right, as for the "Big Screen", I do love the movie theatre but for those times I don't want to go to the big screen, I've put a decent home theatre in the basement. It's not the VIP Cineplex experience but it's pretty damn good.

I hope you've got a decent Home Big Screen.

Going in with super low expectations. It has a Toby McGuire Spiderman movies feel already.. super cheesy.

Venom is out in cinemas on *October 5*
But like usual I will watch it in my home cinema .

I do have a decent home setup. Sometimes I prefer watching movies/shows from the comfort of my own living room rather than going out.

Honestly I was not impressed with the trailer at all, if anything it moved me more towards waiting on a rental.

Disagree, the Tobey Maguire Spidermans are the standard marvel movie, especially p2.
But I agree that this looks really corny, like the Spiderman reboots.
