Issue i am facing is that my plasma has outstanding image quality even from acute angles so replacing it with an LED with similar performance means yeah, $1500, no tthe $700 i was hoping for. Fuck.

TBH i want to move the panny upstairs because the apps on it don't work which is fucking infuriating but I ain't settling for a shitty picture.
I just replaced my plasma with the Vizio M65-E0. I already knew that the plasma was superior, but plasma is no more so...
My plasma developed a line down the center so it was time for it to go.

I can definitely tell the difference in blacks w/this LED TV vs Plasma. With everything considered, I'm not upset I have moved on from plasma. Image quality is perfectly fine.

I looked online and HDR sets are in the $500-$600 range, not sure what your budget is but might be worth spending just a little more for something more future proof with the best picture. Seems like a reasonable amount to me for a 55+ inch TV with the latest tech. Wouldn't even think of spending over a grand and not having HDR.

That was only +/- the price from my sound alone...

The big issue seems to be viewing angle, anything under $1K has very negative reviews re. viewing angle and that's a big issue in my living room.

I'll have to look into that at Best Buy rather than buying sight unseen.

HOWEVER, looks like the Samsung MU8000 65" is on sale for $1,300 & the Sony 70" KD70X690E for $1,200. Would I be better served buying one of these instead? I am not willing to spend more so don't suggest more expensive TVs.

I will be coming from a 50" Plasma Samsung

The LG will be around $1300 or less around Black Friday as well I bet.

Perhaps you are the one with the comprehension issue. You specifically mention a $1,300 TV in your original post so that price point is obviously not off limits.

I was talking about a couple other posters, but thanks for not reading yourself. Bonus, I already bought a TV last week.

There were only 2 people that had posted when you said that, myself being one of them.

Congrats on the TV.

Just bought this for my place :

https://www.amazon.com/Sony-XBR65A1E...ords=Sony+OLED

Paired with HT-ST5000 sound bar

OLED + 4k, doesn't get any better than that right now.

Nice, don’t forget to add a 4K player, Sony makes a decent one. I swear watching the new Spider-Man and Kong movies looked amazing and nearly 3D in scope.

Also there is a great owner’s thread on Avsforum.com to help with picture settings.

Just got this 75" beauty on Saturday. Its a Samsung MU8000 series. Maybe its me but i couldn't see enough difference to spend an extra 1.5k on a similar sized OLED.
