The ACR also produces 545 kg at 150 mph, which means its palaays producing much more than the RS. The Viper would likely need to reduce downforce to hit speeds like the RS (given the same power) which in turn would affect its cornering speeds and grip so there is a trade off there that likely may not be of overall benefit. The only real way I see the Viper getting faster is a dual clutch which would also add weight.
Overall, the 2RS is just in another league.
Valid point, top speed of viper is 177mph, that can't compete with the 2RS. I'm curious to see how the 2RS compares to the Viper on the various tracks that the Viper ACR broke production lap time records.

The 7:20 the .1 RS ran was not in ideal conditions as part of the track was wet and that's why there is no official time for the .1 3RS. In all likelyhood it would have been faster than the 7:20 time floating around.

The new 3RS will be appreciably faster.

I was spot on for the 2RS and will likely be so on the 3RS
Doubt it will be 10s faster than .2 GT3 but we'll see. .2 Gt3 is faster everywhere than .1 Gt3 rs , hence 8s gap at the ring.

I think it will be...

Again, the .1 RS time is not official and should not be a basis for comparison to the .2 GT3.

Either way, we will see. The .2 3RS is supposed to get an even larger displacement engine and think a lot of the 2RS advancements will make their way into the car yielding more benefit over the GT3.

.1 RS has official lap times at several tracks, all slower than .2 GT3.

The .1RS also has some official items faster than the .2 GT3.

I think we are conflating other tracks and the Ring when they aren't really comparable. I also don't think the other tracks are conclusive enough to determine much. My main point was that the .1 RS is closer in performance to the .2 GT3 than it is the .1 GT3, more specifically the Ring.

This is nuts - killed the 918 time. Very impressive Porsche!

I'm not surprised it beat the 918 and if you look back for at least 6 months I said the car would do 6:46 (which was by and large the case). Not only is it around 500 lbs lighter than the 918 but also has considerably more max power available at just about any point during the lap given that the 918's electric power is not on tap 100% of the time nor anywhere close to it, but relies on the 600 hp from the V8 a considerable amount of the time.

Even so, it is impressive that they went out and did it. Awesome...
