Purchase advice
My 5 year old is asking for one, we plan to limit his time but cannot hold out forever. I have been "out of the game" for near 20 years, grew annoyed with the poor gameplay in racing games so bailed.
So my question is, what would suit us best? I need something with easy games suitable for beginners but yeah i'd like to ensure I have access to a few decent racing games for myself. The other issue is I understand the consoles have all gone past just playing games and have the potential to go all 'HAL' on your entertainment set up. I hear issues re. endless updates, connectivity issues and so on and so forth. I need it as stress free as possible but not gimmicky ala Wii which I found to be utter rubbish. Any thoughts? |

I would suggest a simple PC, caused by better later usage abilities afterwards and surely better to upgrade when the style of the games are no longer suitable to his current age.
Also better to restrict by writing a short file or implement the parents mode at the OS for limited the usage time. A very no-reason was at us the argument "the others have and I dont".

Playstation has always been user friendly.
Just my 2 cents... I know xbox is great too. But my whole life I had a Playstation in the house. I was, myself, 5. And on the weekends, I could get up and pop a game in and sit there not actually grasping the concept of the game, just the fact that I was spiderman kicking bad guys' asses.
