Sucks for VW that's for sure. Sad part for everyone, beyond those impacted directly by cars obvs, is that they now have to cut a lot of programs. Lemans, Baja etc. sucks when the chickens come home to roost.

Why are people receiving anything? Were they robbed of mpg? I don't believe they were. The EPA should fine them for pollution and require buybacks or fix the problem

Nope. I'm getting almost double that for my buyback. It's based off of NADA value in September 2015 and then another $5k "were sorry" on top of that. I've essentially driven my golf tdi around for 5 years for next to nothing.
