Clever camo, looks like a ute. But you can clearly make out the Corvette greenhouse and the air intakes below the spoiler. |

Check CERV3/corvette Indy. Mid engine twin turbo LT-5 in early '90s. They've been working mid engine for forever and always come back to front engine/rear drive. The typical corvette buyer has always wanted/demanded that set up. I will be shocked if the mid engine ever becomes the only model.

The cerv3 was pretty incredible. Active suspension(hydraulic), pivot doors, and around 700hp. Now it took about 100hp to run the hydraulics but still a real goer. Gordon Killebrew was engineering that hydraulic system until the MR fluid was realized. GM was going to offer it on ZR1 only models with an option cost around $20k. There is a prototype that I was told would blow your mind. Speed bumps at any speed wouldn't upset a coffee cup sitting on dash.

Can't wait to park this in the garage next to the 3L V8 C7:
https://www.google.com/search?q=TheD...V8+3L+corvette http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=539655 Also, I have it on good authority that the C9 Corvette will have a 759hp jet engine and be capable of hanging with a circa 2015 F1 car around SPA. That's the one I'm waiting for. |

Just remembered Stingray III. Mid-engine V6. Mid '90s I think. Purple car. During the mule stage for C5 cars they had a mule that was a camaro body placed on C5 chassis. Had vette interior also. The give away was the C5 exhaust pipes poking out back and it had odd wheel gaps and rode about 6" too high.
Hendricks built a GTP Corvette that was mid-engine, but that was a race car only. Years later it was reproduced as a pallet/kit car. |

Looks a like a Lotus, a Koenigsegg, an NSX even....the looks already seem outdated. Amazing step in the right the direction and even if it looks like that it will sell, but I'm already tired of looking at it.

Thats just a rendering by someone not affiliated with GM. End product may and probably won't look anything like that.

With them selling 35k Corvette's a year and it starting at $55k I see don't see them replacing the current Corvette with a much more expensive mid engine car and think they will either have two options or make this a Cadillac (my guess).
Of course if it ever happens.
