Anyone else?

Ok, so I have a son who plays Little League baseball. Has anyone else tried finding a bat for their kids? What a pain in the a$$?!?!?!?!
Little League has a list of rules to regulate the bats, and a corresponding list of approved bats, then you have to cross reference those with bats that actually are sized to suit your child. Eeesh, what happened to the days when I was a kid and needed a bat - I went to the sports store, measured the bat by putting up against my leg, and got whatever one ended up about where my hip started. Why do we always have to complicate things?

I see you live in SoCal. THAT's why. Your bat may offend someone who has a lesser bat and could cause injury merely at the thought of the patriarchal, phallus that the bat represents. Females (and trans, bi, gay, and queer "males"; especially when not cisgendered) could be deeply offended by your bat choice. Now, go find a watered down bat that cannot hurt or be perceived to intend to hurt anyone. Here, use a wiffle ball bat. And here is a trophy too - save it for the end of the season - cuz you'll all get one. (hehe... that was fun!)

LOL, nope, nothing like that, we use Little League International rules here. So it is supposed to be the same rules for any team that is part of Little League International. Definitely agree on the trophy bullshit, when I was a kid to get a trophy you had to actually WIN!!! Luckily, our league follows that and only the 1st place team in each division gets a trophy, medals are awarded for 2nd and 3rd, outside of that you get nothing. My boy's team is currently in 2nd place and battling

OK - I good. I live in Florida where the state motto is IDGAF. My brother lives in NoCal. All the rules and regulations there are crazy. It takes like an act of congress to re-landscape and stuff.

My boy is aging out, his last year will be this summer with LL. We bought a bat 3 years ago to meet CIF rules, and it has always been on the LL list of approved bats. We did buy one the first year, and the next year in All-Stars it was not allowed. Wasted $200 on that one

Exactly, there is the frustration. Heck, just finding a bat that meets the "no more than 2 1/4 barrel" rule is a pain, then add to that the Performance Factor...........

The alternative is to just use one of the 2 bats that LL provides each team. . .

I never had my own personal bat when I played. But then again, I couldn't read the word STOP on a stop sign back then, so I didn't REALLY need a bat. IF I did get a walk though, I usually was stealing home by the 4th or 5th pitch.
