That it is a sighting lap only makes it worse. There are certain things you do on sighting and installation laps. I may be incorrect but putting a wheel off because you are popping along at 95% isn't on the list of things to do. And as I said previously, the driver could have given them the full hypercar experience without endangering anyone. I won't comment on this further. I tend to lean towards keeping people as safe as possible at all times and this was not a case of that in any respect. Cheers-mk P. S. Qualified means a different thing than skilled. One may possess the requisite skills to perform a task without being qualified to do that task consistently and safely, IMHO Last edited by MKSixer; 02-07-2016 at 02:45 PM.. |

I also acknowledge that a kill means a kill of my freedom. And not as in jail time

Very very sad situation... but I fail to see how the driver would be at fault here. It's a controlled environment and accidents in a high risk environment like this can happen...

I find it interesting the dude in the SUV had the presence of mind to immediately hit the hazards at impact. Makes me wonder if the guy was already expecting to hit the other car or was playing chicken with him prior. Because hitting my hazards would be the last thing I would worry about when confronted with a possible collision. These videos remind me of an incident I had a long time ago. Those from the DC area are probably familiar with Tyson's Corner Mall 1 and 2. I was sitting on Rt 123 in the left turn lane at the intersection where the old La Madeleine location next to 123 waiting to turn left into the mall. It was raining that night. Some idiot in a 3 series at the on the right side of the intersection coming from the office buildings decided to do a burn out when the light turned green. He spins his tires through the intersection and then loses control. His car is now pointed right at me. The turn lane I'm in has concrete medians on both sides, so no place for me to go. I brace for impact and fortunately for me he catches traction just before hitting me, but couldn't straighten his car enough. He hits the concrete median so hard, the car is airborne. I see his tail lights even with my rear outside rear view mirror. His car lands right behind me pointing in the opposite direction. After a few moments of I guess him feeling the warmth of what he deposited in his britches, he starts driving in the wrong direction. At that moment, my light turned green and I drove off into the mall. |

The hazards probably come on automatically when in a collision like that to warn people.
