Walk-In Tub For Aging Parent
As the title suggests, anyone have any experience buying one of these for aging parents? My mother needs one and I can't decide between the standard ones which position you like you would sit in a chair to take a bath. Or, something that looks more like a traditional tub, allowing you to stretch out, but has a entry/exit door and a power seat which lowers you down into the water and then raises you up.
Mom doesn't care which version. I welcome opinions.

My Mom's new place has a walk-in shower that is the size of a standard tub-surround. There's no real tub, though. More like a big shower with a small bench in it. The first time she sat on the bench she slid right off and onto the bottom of the shower. Luckily my sister was there to help her up. Still, she prefers it to a tub. No need to lift her feet up and over the side of a tub to get in or out.

i always thought the one with the little door would be pretty sweet. i jacked up my hip a few years back and dreaded even getting into the shower. a step-in bathtub without much of a rise would have been badass. i sound old, but i was 27 at the time (all better now). its like having a damn jacuzzi.

My mom can still step, it was the periods of STANDING still in the shower, so dad put a little plastic seat in the shower and she is good for now.
