So................................................ ..
Saw the movie tonight. I believe the movie does a great job as a 're-introduction' for this generation while paying homage to the story and fans from the original generation. Couple of 'OMG' moments, and the movie moves at a hectic pace for about the 1st third of the film.....Overall - it's worth the hype if you're a fan of the franchise. |

While there is no doubt the movie will smash records, the word out on the street is - the movie needs to generate at least 1 and a half BILLION dollars to be considered a "success"... Disney board is expecting to recoup the 4 billion they spent BEFORE the 3rd film... I'm pretty sure jj Abrams is downing pepto and tums for the next little while...

You can't even walk in ANY store without being bombarded with SW merchandise! So I seriously doubt Disney will have ANY problems turning a profit.
You guys have heard they are essentially going to create an entire Star Wars Theme Park like Disney World! And a never ending movie franchise. $$$$$$$$$ |

Just saw Star Wars yesterday. Can someone tell me what the new planet was for the First Order? The old one was the Death Star and the new was ____. Can't remember it, but they did say the name.

Finally saw this last weekend. In and of itself it did not disappoint. The visuals were amazing and the bridging of old-new was well done. The only issue I had was with the plot. A race to destroy a "bigger" death-star. Really? I chuckled when they were discussing how to destroy the planet death machine. It seemed so cliche'. "All we need to do is shut down the shields and destroy this one vulnerable area and the whole thing will blow". Wasn't there two other Star Wars movies with the same thing? I guess whoever the universal bad guys are, they all want planet destroying thingy's... The bigger the better lol!
Looks like we are on another trilogy ride that will hopefully have some new and interesting story lines. Looking forward to seeing Luke in action again. Hopefully he'll be the "force" to be reckoned with!

For anyone taking their significant other or someone not familiar with the series, this 30 minute video does a good job summarizing the backstory. I had my gf watch it before watching this and probably made her less confused.
