No need to use the rear-mounted switch unless you have a lock-up problem with the PS3. Turn off the device via the remote control or game controllers.
I don't charge my controllers unless I am using the system. If you are watching a movie, just plug the controller in to let it charge. By the time you finish the film, the controller should be charged and you can turn off the PS3. |

I just got my ps3 as well, anyone have the default theme ('original') change colors? I got some new hdmi cables today, and after installing them, the default theme became a black and red mix of colors, not like it was messed up, the colors were integrated into the display. I played spiderman 3 and Gran Turismo and the colors were fine. I switched back to the old cables, and the colors were the same black and red. Weird though, because 4 hours later, turned it on, it went back to the regular all-black original theme
back to the OP, I never used to turn off the PS2 from the back switch, and not doing it so far either for the PS3, I just leave it on with the red standby indicator. so far, love the turning on the system from the controller ability, been my favorite aspect so far |

Circuit City has been having that deal for sometime now.
Also if you have the 40gig you really don't have to worry about the power and such. Due to the 40gig running way more efficiently and just running better. Today if you went to Wal-mart and got the 80gig could of got 10 blu-ray movies instantly free. Wish i had the cash.

The next day he went and traded them in without a reciept saying they were gifts and got a couple hundred in Wal-mart gift cards. Again, Wish I had the cash would have done it but I already got the new ipod touch so i was broke. Being a college student sucks.

The PS3 default theme changes color and intensity with respect to season and time.
if you buy an HDMI cable, buy it for cheap from Amazon. There is no need to ever buy a Monster or other expensive digital cable. Save the money for software and movies. I also bought the remote from Amazon back in March. At the time it was cheaper than BB or CC. |
