98 540i 6speed vibration 1500-2500rpm. Guibo?
So when I'm accelerating I can feel a vibration. Almost feels like a wheel wobble but I've checked my control arms and ball joints and everything is holding up correctly. It is the worst around 1500-2500rpm and then smooths out. Isn't really speed dependent just rpm's. Most noticeable in 2nd and 3rd gear. Rides smooth on highways and drives straight. Any thoughts? From what I've researched it seems like it could be motor mounts, driveshaft, guibo, driveshaft center support. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know if you've gotten any feedback on this but I have been experiencing the same issue and my mechanic diagnosed it as a vibration due to exhaust gasket ring that connects between the headers and the exhaust system. Part #:18301728734.
He replaced it and all is well, no more vibration. Hope this helps. |
