Nate4641 photo thread
I guess this would be my self introduction to this part of the forums. I usually stick to the ZPost areas, but started looking around the off topic area. I see a lot of great photography and discussions around here so felt I should introduce myself. I'm Nate, I'm a U.S. Marine Corps Photographer, although my current duties have taken me away from photography for a little while. I grew up in a family of photographers, mostly shooting Nikon, but I've switched to Canon. Anyways, here's a bit of my favorite shots and you can check the rest of my stuff out at my Flickr

Thanks everyone! I've been lucky with my career and the opportunities I've had in the Marines. Lots of travel and lots of great experiences. Hands down the best job in the military.

Welcome to the forums, guys. On a side note, Alan, it would've been best to start your own thread instead of jacking Nate's thread.

Figured my own thread would be a good spot for this.
I had my sister (who's a teacher and could order the significantly cheaper education edition) order me the CS6 Master Suit as my old pirated copy was lost and I wanted a legit copy. I've been sitting on this footage for 2.5 years and finally got to edit this video the way I wanted in Premier.

Went out to see the Meroe Pyramids in Sudan. These pyramids are pretty small, the blocks you see are only about a foot tall most of the time.
Quick history lesson from wikipedia; Meroë was the southern capital of the Napata/Meroitic Kingdom, that spanned the period c. 800 BC — c. 350 AD. So these are a lot older than the great pyramids of Egypt. There are also temples and some other pretty cool sites in the area. The Meroitic script is an alphabetic script originally derived from Egyptian hieroglyphs, used to write the Meroitic language of the Kingdom of Meroë/Kush. I tried looking up this expedition but couldn't find anything on it.
