Nice portrait with good detail and sweet bokeh. How's the detail at 100% vs. your Canon lens?

Dave
Thanks, Dave. The lens is very sharp when I'm able to nail the focus. I'm still getting used to focusing manually. When I get home, I'll see if I can post a 100% crop.

Yeah, I've toyed with getting a Zeiss MF wide-angle lens, but then I start thinking about our viewing screen not being designed for MF and remember the trouble I have when I try to override the AF and I decide not to go that route. If I already owned the lenses, it'd be a different matter.

Why so many? Was that taken at night or something that would cause you to stack?

I'm thinking that to cover the subject with around a 50mm lens, from that perspective would take, at most, 6-images. What gives?

I'll go look at the original size.

Dave
Dunno why I put 29! - just counted them and there are only 12!! Was taken during the day but liked it better in BandW - may have another go at a colour version sometime.

goofing around testing out new umbrella. the highlight around the watch face is reflection off the polished surface and not post processing.

it's dark? what do you mean?

that's a damn good question though... I really have no idea. Basically, in the middle of a field in the boondocks. I drove by it going pretty fast (since it was some nicely-paved rural road), and as soon as I saw it, I slammed on my brakes and stopped to take a photo.

the exposure seems very low.

nice find however. I see neat stuff once in a while, but I just don't stop to take closer looks, and i hate myself for it. I always feel like i have to be somewhere, when i really don't.

hmm... weird. I wonder if it's because my new laptop has a much brighter screen now?

any other recently edited photos for comparison sake? might be a good way to tell if it's the brightness of your screen

hehe... sure?

Let me edit one more photo and let me know what you think... it would suck to be under-exposed because my new screen is brighter.

I have a couple hours of front seat stick time in one of those Huey Cobras. I was in an aeroscout platoon in Ft. Hood and one of the Cobra pilots needed to make a maintenance flight one Saturday morning and needed someone to sit in the front seat. I almost broke my arm volunteering. He knew I had a lot of stick time in the scout birds, so as soon as we cleared the airfield he turned it over to me. Those things had ventilated seats long before MB or BMW. He set the radio on a good rock station and let me fly where I wanted. The only time he took the controls back was once out by a lake when he saw a deer, at which point he took the controls and nosed us over hard to make a low level strafing run at the poor deer. No guns, of course, but the deer was still not amused. And then he took over as we approached the airfield for landing. Very. Cool. Day.

I like strawberry blondes and pale too :P it's a weakness.

sure, i'll give my opinion on brightness, but don't by me completely because my screen settings may be darker then some others.

They're a lot of fun, especially when you're flying with the skids in the tree tops like the military does.
