pricing on dealer install iPod adapter?
I have 4 different prices from 3 different bay area dealers for the installation of the iPod adapter in my '07 e92 (no iDrive)
Cheapest one was $425 Most expensive was $725 (same dealer quoted me 525 a few weeks earlier). Also, one dealer says it takes a couple of days to reprogram the car's computer and I should plan to leave the car there for a few days. Anybody have any experience with this (especially with the bay area deelers).

latest price qhote
Turns out the $425 quote I got a few months back was for the older version. The latest quote from that dealer is $580.
Another bay area dealer quoted me $720. I have yet to check the 3rd area dealer. Where did you get it for $500? Was that in the bay area?

I got mine last month for $400 from BMW of Bakersfield. The original quote was $600 but I complained.

I just got my MOST IPOD kit installed @ East Bay BMW for <$300. I think it was ~$260 or something close. Actually less than the original quote of $360. I was blown away at not only the fairly low price comparatively speaking, but also at the fact that they did this for less than the quote. They could have done it for the quote price and I would have been happy. <Quote is amazing. THAT is how you get all 5's.

Greetings,
does "installed" mean ipod retro kit + labor? Any info on what parts and material total would be, for the latest rev? I see the kits sold on Ebay for > 300 and if I have to fork out another $ 400-$500 only to listen to the crooks make excuses like "Oh you didnt buy the unit from us bla bla bla" I'd be really upset. Please inbox me dealer info, much appreciate it. Last edited by wk; 07-09-2007 at 10:14 PM.. Reason: want dealer name so I could consider buying |
